As the legend goes, dreamcatchers were used by Native Americans to protect tribes from bad dreams. Dreamcatchers attract and catch all sorts of dreams and thoughts into its web. The dreamcatchers were hung above the bed in a place where sunlight can hit it. Bad dreams are caught up in the protective web and destroyed by being burned up in the light. Good dreams pass through and gently slide down to the feathers to comfort the sleeper below and to be dreamed another night.
